Built by a gardener, for gardeners

Hey, I'm Matt. My wife Tiffany and I live in Spokane with our three kids. We have a garden that we love taking care of — and it keeps getting bigger.

What started as a few tomato plants has turned into a whole operation: multiple varieties of tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apple trees, corn, pumpkins, peppers, and summer squash. Our kids love being part of it, especially when it's time to pick fruit.

We also have around 30 houseplants (and counting), a big lawn that's still a work in progress, and a yard we've been building up from scratch over the last couple of years — constantly adding new plants and trees.

I kept turning to AI to ask questions — when to start seedlings, how much to water, when to plant, how to diagnose problems. It was genuinely helpful, but I'd spend a lot of time repeating the same conversations. There was no central place to store everything about my garden, and every new chat started from zero.

So I built an agent that actually knew my plants. It tracked our garden, remembered what we'd planted, and gave advice that was specific to our yard, our zone, and our weather. That personal tool became Sown.

I wanted an expert I could turn to when I needed help — one that already knew my setup. Whether I'm troubleshooting a sick tomato plant, figuring out what to do with my lawn this spring, or deciding where to put a new tree, Sown is the assistant I wished I'd had from the start.
