These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sown mobile application ("App") operated by Sown ("we," "our," or "us"). By using Sown, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Sown is an AI-powered garden assistant that provides plant identification, care recommendations, weather-based gardening guidance, and garden management tools. The App uses artificial intelligence to analyze photos, generate advice, and create personalized gardening plans.

2. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Sown's advice, plant identifications, health assessments, and care recommendations are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy:

• AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional horticultural, agricultural, or botanical advice
• Plant identifications may be inaccurate — do not consume any plant based solely on an AI identification
• We are not liable for crop loss, plant damage, property damage, or personal injury resulting from following AI-generated advice
• Always verify critical decisions (such as edibility, toxicity, or chemical applications) with qualified professionals

3. Account

You must create an account to use Sown. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

• Sown offers a free tier with limited features and a Premium subscription with unlimited access
• Premium subscriptions are available as monthly ($7.99/month) or annual ($39.99/year) plans
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's App Store or Google Play account settings
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except as required by applicable law or the policies of Apple or Google

5. Your Content

• You retain ownership of all content you create, including photos, garden data, and chat messages
• By using Sown, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service (e.g., sending photos to our AI for analysis, storing garden data for your account)
• We do not use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the App in a way that could harm other users or our infrastructure

7. Availability

We strive to keep Sown available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any losses due to service unavailability.

8. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sown and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of crops, plants, or garden productivity, arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sown and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of Sown after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
